woops...

Hey guys,
Not much new going on here today, Dad's going down to Harried SD to watch the cow sale, Mom's working on a client right now, Cora's babysitting at the (other) neighbor's place, Andrew's posting BisMan ads, and I'm working on school...

Yesterday was a bit of a different story though.  Dad and I moved the rest of the hay home (rest of story coming in a bit); Mom and Andrew went up to Bismarck again; and Cora stayed home... 8o :P

Anyway, Dad and I went over to get the first load of hay in the morning.  He took the semi and flatbed and I took Andrews '08 RAM 2500 with his car trailer so that I could take home the odd 7 bales that wouldn't fit on the regular semi load.

  Well, on my way back...

Yep, I jackknifed 'er down in the ditch.  It's a long story, but more or less I was coming too fast into a turn and the trailer broke the back end of the pickup loose and took 'er right down the ditch sideways...

It's a long story.  If you guys want I can explain the whole thing in a comment, so let me know guys.
 TTYL, Jacob B.

A Nasty Weekend...

Hey guys,
It's been a little bit rough up here the past few days, apparently we all, except for Cora, got food poisoning from something, so Saturday was, well, not so pleasant...  Sunday was a lot better, and Today we're pretty much all over it, except for Mom...

I got some more of my snowmobile parts today, so I'll be going out to the shop later on to work on that some more, work on getting the reeds back in and some other odds and ends, might even try to put the whole engine back in the sled, not sure yet...

We're finally getting some snow on the ground here, so I kind of want to get my snowmobile done soon... :P   I'm not sure when we're going to set up our hockey rink though, but I hope it's soon! :)

Not sure what else to write about now, as there really hasn't been anything else of interest happening here, other then Andrew got the old John Deere sled out this morning... :)  Anyway, talk to you all later, Jacob B.

Snow!

Hey guys,
Not much new going on around here, outside of Andrew importing some of our Uncle Rick's music collection... :P  He's working on 1 of his 3 CD cases that are about 5' long and about 2 feet wide, and all full of good ol 60's and 70's music. :)

Today, Dad and Mom went up to Bismarck, as Mom had a session to do, and Dad needed to do some more loan paperwork; Cora went babysitting, Andrew just got home from hauling a load of hay home, and I'm working on my school work, and goofing off.. :P

Yesterday, Dad and I went over to our rented land over by Hazleton to get a load of hay home; and then after we got home at about 1:15, Dad; Andrew; and I went out and loaded up 2 cows to take to the butcher shop.

After we got them loaded up, Andrew and I messed around on the quads in the snow for a little bit, and after that, the rest of the day was kind of uneventful.  Well, I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B.

Open House

Hey guys,
Today, Mom; Cora; Andrew; and a friend went up to Bismarck for a open house party that Mom's business is putting on.  Everybody here has been working on that for the past few days, so not much else has hapened other then that...

My snowmobile is still all apart, although I did get the pistons on it the other day.  We're getting some snow on the ground though, so I better hurry up! :P  We still have the old John Deere if we needed to get through a lot of snow though...

Our latest family entertainment choices have turned towards WW2. Thats right, we're now all hooked on Hogan's Hero's! :)  Cora gave me the first season for my birthday, and then we found the rest online. :)

And now that I don't have anything else to talk about, I'm going to have to say goodbye, and farewell untill I write to you again. (wich might be a while:P)  Anyway, TTYL, Jacob B.

Another combine!

Hey guys,
Sorry about my blog going dead (again), I've been kind of busy lately working on everybody's projects, along with my own whenever possible, as well as playing a good bit of ping pong... :P

The FedEx man just came, bringing the bottom end of the engine for my snowmobile that I had to order because the previous owner blew it up and didn't tell me about that...  So yeah, I just stuck another $650 into the sled that I didn't think I had to... -_-

Last Friday, Dad and I went over to a consignment auction sale near Jamestown, and while we were there, we bought a combine! (again :P)  This time we got the combine we wanted though, a 1990 John Deere 9600! :) (pictures to come later, as always)

So then on Wednesday, Dad and I went over there again, and drove it home.  Nice combine! :D  Well, I gotta get on with my other school work, I want to start rebuilding my engine this afternoon... :D  TTYL, Jacob B.

Working with cows...

Hey guys,
Well, I don't have much news to write about today, but I'll find something to write about on this rather nippy day, while I'm sitting here with my school work....... :/

Anyway, this morning, Mom and Andrew went up to Bismarck as Mom has sessions to do up there, and Andrew was going to do some stuff around town (picking up my snowmobile parts... :D), Cora went babysitting, Dad ran into Napoleon for a little bit, and I'm doing school... (duh) :P

Yesterday morning, we all went outside, and got all the cows and calves in the lot, and sorted all the calves off and put them in a different pen so they will be weened and be fed a bit of grain until we sell them.

After that was done, we got all the cows back in again, and took all of the ones that we don't want into town for the sale today.  Long story short, it was a day full of working with cows...  Also, tomorrow, Dad; (maybe) Andrew; and I are going to an auction sale, so that will be fun! :D

Talk to you all later, Jacob B.

A Good day...

Hey guys,
Yesterday, Cora went babysitting again, Mom and Dad stayed home and worked around the place, and Andrew and I went up to Bismarck to buy and sell some stuff again... :)

When we got up to Bismarck, we went to the Menards parking lot, and (shivered while we) sold one of Andrew's 4-wheelers to a guy for $1,800 and a nice Ruger Hawkeye rifle...  :)

After we did that, I gave a guy a call, and then we went out into the Baldwin area so I could buy myself a snowmobile!  So my newest project is a 2005 Polaris Fusion 900, which I bought (very inexpensively) with a chipped piston.

After that, we got back to town, and went to some other stores which I'll let Andrew talk about, and I ordered parts for my new sled at a parts store.  And when I came home, I had a nice box of computer parts waiting for me, and I am writing this on my new custom built PC! :D

I will talk to you later, and get you pictures of my sled when I have it back together more, Jacob B. ;)

Rover is done! :D

Hey guys,
Since I last wrote, a lot has happened here.  We had a birthday party; played lots of ping pong; had friends over, fixed fence and moved cows around, I got my Land Rover back in operable condition, and I got a copy of Agricultural Simulator 2013 Deluxe. :)

We also attended a birthday party/thanksgiving party at my grandparent's place yesterday...  Anyway, as for my Land Rover, here is a picture of it! (yes, I know I said I was going to get you a picture like 2 weeks ago...) :P

^ My funny British car...  :P  Anyway, tomorrow, we are planning on working our calves, so please pray for safety and for all to go well during that project.  It will be good to get that out of the way though...

As far as Agrar Simulator 13 goes, lets just say this, it needs a good bit of work yet, but if they get it into a good state and rework the driving physics, it could easily become the best farming game yet.  Anyway, I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B. ;)

cold weather again!

Hey guys,
Today, Mom and Andrew went to Bismarck to do the stuff that needed doing in town, Cora is babysitting at the neighbor's place, Dad is working on his truck again, and I'm sitting here with school work to do...

Yesterday afternoon, Dad; Cora; Andrew; and I loaded up 4 cows to go to the butcher shop, and then went and played ping-pong for a bit, until Dad had to go deliver the cows.  Andrew also sold a quad and a computer to a guy who saw his ads on BisMan Online.

One of the things on our list for today is to put a new floor in our cattle working chute, so that the cows don't churn up the ground right under the chute and make a big mess like has been the case in previous years... :\

Well, I don't have much more to write about, so I am going to go outside and help dad in the shop.  I will talk to you all later, and give you an update on my car project... ;)  Talk to you later, Jacob B.

Birthday Time! :)

Hey guys,
Long time no write again as usual, but I've been keeping busy with tearing my Land Rover engine down, having a birthday, stuff like that... :P  Yes, that's right, I just turned 17 yesterday!  I still don't know where time goes...

As for my Land Rover, I've got it apart as far as I should, and I'm just waiting for parts to come so that I can start putting it all back together again...  It appears that it was the head gasket, so it should be a really cheap fix... :)

So, yesterday, on my birthday, Cora brought the 2 little girls that she babysits over, and we had a good time watching them and watching a kids movie, and then she took them back over to their home after lunch.  After (a very good) lunch, Andrew and I went out to the shop and played ping-pong for about an hour and a half... :P

So, for my birthday so far, I've been given, another good 3 hour long board game, called Aeroplanes; 3 movies; The Cricket in Times Square, Tom Sawyer, and Adventures of Huckleberry Fin; a book of cars from the 60's; and a guitar capo!  Thank you to my wonderful family! :)

I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B. ;)

Nothing New...

Hey guys,
I just got back home from up in the pasture chasing the cows back in and fixing fence, as our cows never seem to want to stay in the fence anymore... :P  Andrew and I took up some quads, and got them back in and opened up another pasture for them.

Other then that, today has been kind of quiet for me, as I stayed home all morning and worked on school work (again).  Dad and Andrew went up to the CRP field that we had made hay on earlier, and staked out a 50 acre plot, as we are going to farm 50 acres of it next year! :D

Dad went trucking right after lunch again today.  He's got a lot of hauling to do for our friend, and for the local elevator too if they need help.  Cora went over to babysit for the neighbors again this morning as well, so the house is kind of quiet now with just mom and me here...

So, as you have deduced, school is really starting here, so I'll be posting every day again, trying to figure out what to write about while nothing new and interesting is happeneing... :P  Anyways, I leave you with a picture, and a goodbye, Jacob B. ;)

.......

Hey guys,
As always, my post's are spaced few and far between, but that is about to change now that Mom has started the school season in full swing, so expect to hear more from me in the near future, and I will try to keep you up to date with my life.

So, Andrew has been keeping busy with harvesting sunflowers for the guy that he was harvesting corn for, Dad is trucking the corn away, Cora has been keeping busy with babysitting, Mom with her sessions, and me with my project and school...

As for my project, I havnt been able to do much on it latley, as Mom has corraled me into school work.  I did get some work done on it though, untill we wanted to play ping pong and it got pushed out of the shop... :P

Well, I cant really think of much more to write about today, Andrew drove up to Minot to pick up something, I'm feeling kind of let down by the FS13 demo wich was slightly below par, and I'm not all that cracked up about school, as normal, lol...

Talk to you all later, Jacob B.

Update

Hey guys,
Mom has been pushing me a lot to get into school more and more lately, so I guess I'll be writing on here and on my other blog a lot more often now, at least when I'm not busy working on other projects... :)

Last Thursday, Andrew and I went to Bismarck to run some errands and pick up some stuff.  We bought a ping pong table on that day, so we have been having a bunch of fun playing around on that, at least, until we had to fold it up to make room for my new project...

That's right, I have a new project!  My latest purchase is a 2001 Land Rover Discovery 2! (pictures to come later, sorry)  It was actually my doctor's car, until she overheated it, blew a head gasket, and then went and bought a new car instead of fixing this one, so I got it cheap! ($500 8o )

Just for your information, if you hadn't heard of "Land Rover" before, it's a British car imported to the US... :P  On a different note, just 9 days until FS13, so I'm excited! :)  Anyway, I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B. ;)

update

Hey guys,
Yes, I know, I haven't been writing very regular, but real life work comes before school, so... :P  Anyways, we have all been keeping very busy with corn harvest and all of the things that come along with that, like fixing the combine........

We have got our "new" combine, a JD 8820, going on the corn harvest now, and it seems to be working pretty good, which is a relief, as when you buy things at auction sales, you never know what your getting....  Lets just hope it continues to work well! :)

Andrew has been combining corn for a farmer friend of ours.  He's running a brand new Case IH 7088! (lucky bugger :P)  I've been doing school work whenever it fits into my schedule, which hasn't been too often... :P

Well, I would write more, but Dad just came in and gave me a list of things to do, so I guess I had better go out and start on that.  I will talk to you all later, Jacob B

Schools back in. again. i think. :P

Hey guys,
As you may have guessed, the school season is drawing near, and it's no different around here, so that's why I've started writing more regular again.  I'll try not to bore you all out with Farming Simulator news again this year, lol.

That being said, not a whole lot has happened around here sense I last wrote you all.  I'm still battling this blasted cold, Mom's up in town doing sessions, Cora's babysitting, Dad's trucking, and Andrew went over to help a neighbor harvest his 1500 acres of corn...

Andrew has been buying up vehicles left and right again, his latest project being a Arctic Cat 4 wheeler with some engine problems.  He just got that fixed the other day, so now we have a nice new quad on the place!  That is, until he sells it... :P

Farming Simulator 2013 is looking nice so far, although still arcade, as normal... Yesterday it was 4 weeks until release date, so I'm looking forward to more info soon on that.  Well, it looks like it's time for me to go again, so I'll talk to you all later. Jacob B.

A Recap of Recent news.

Hey guys,
I know it's been a long time sense I've written to you all, but I have been busy over the summer doing field work, and all sorts of other stuff...  I'll try to touch on the events that have happened sense I last wrote you all, but I know I can't get them all in one post... lol

On one of the later weekends of August, we held an Appleseed shoot at our place, on our own range that we had set up a few weeks earlier.  We had a lot of fun during the event, and playing volleyball afterwards... ;)

On a more recent note, last Wednesday, Dad and I went to Fargo to see the Big Iron Farm Show, and on the way, we found a lot full of equipment that was going to be sold at auction on the 14th, or last Friday.  We had a great day at Big Iron, even though I did have this cold then already... :(

On Friday then, Dad; Andrew; and I went over by Jamestown to the consignment auction, as we had seen some things that we were interested in.  We had a great time spending cash... lol.  We bought a Deere 8820 combine, a 60' grain auger, a air compressor, and some other tools... :)

Talk to you later, I gotta go;)

Update

Hey guys,
It's been a busy bit of time since I've posted, but very fun as well... ;)  First off, I'd like to say, it was nice having you here Hristiyan, and hope you enjoyed your time at the farm! ;)  Second, I'd like to say I have no idea what to write about, but I have to write something... :P

I'm thinking about starting up a second blog all about farming simulation games, mods for them, and news on new releases.  Let me know if that sounds like a good idea to you, and I might write more on that one as well... :P

I really don't know what we're going to be doing today, but we've worked on a lot of vehicles in the shop lately, and Andrew and I got an engine pulled out of a car last night, so I've got a feeling Andrew's working on that now, or will be soon... :P

Also, just a quick shout to my friend Tyler, hope ya had a good time at camp man! ;)  (yes, I am just typing random things by now... :P)  Well, I think I'm going to go before I go waaaay too random, so I'll see ya all later! ;)

AS:HF screens and farm news

Hey guys, long time no see! ;)
I've been busy working on getting the hay crop put up, or at least whats there to put up, so thats why I havn't posted in a long time... :P  Unfortunatly, we've only been getting a bit less then half of the hay crop of normal this year... :(

We've got the 1st cut almost done, we just have to stack up the few bales on a little part of the last field, but the tractor decided it had to break on us before we could finish that up, so we are currently stoped with bale stacking and carting... :(

So during the time that I havn't written, Andrew's bought and sold some vehicles, Cora's done a lot of babysitting, Mom worked on a lot of clients, Dad baled a lot of hay, and I've cut hay along with Andrew, and a lot more happend as well, that I dont have time to write about now... :P

Anyways, as promised, here's a few pictures from my latest game. :)

Anyways, have a good one out there, I've gotta go. Cya later, Jacob;)

Seeding is done, and other news... :P

Hey guys,
Yes, it's been a long time sense I've wrote on here, but we've all been busy getting our seeding done, and all sorts of other stuff... ;)  One of the major things that just happened here, was Andrew left for South Dakota to help in the Ron Paul campaign down there...

As you may have guessed, there was a new farming simulation game coming out soon, all about historical farming in the 50s-70s. Well, it just got released on the 25th, but I ordered mine on disc, so now I'm waiting 3 weeks for shipping....... :(:(

Yeaaaaa, that's kind of annoying, but in that time, they can work more bugs out...  Anyways, we are getting ready for haying, and we should start laying some hay down in about a week, or maybe even less!  As I write, Dad's getting ready to put the baler in the shop... ;)

Also, Mom's doing a session on the phone, Cora's babysitting, Andrew's down in South Dakota making phone calls, and I'm writing to you all... :P  Time for me to go again, I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B. ;)

Giveaway ending in 2 days.

Hey guys,
Just writing to let you all know that my giveaway ends this Saturday, so if you haven't registered yet, you may want to;)

This whole week has been very busy with seeding here, and if all goes well, we should get done with our seeding tomorrow! :D We've had many interesting little problems like the small grain truck falling in a sink hole, and many other crazy little problems...

The last few days, I've been picking a lot of rocks... Yeah, a lot of fun...  NOT! Also, Andrew and Cora have been sick, but Andrew has got a nasty cough... :( Also, my friend, Tyler, is sick right now too, so if you could pray for them, it would be nice;)

I have to go to bed now, so I'll talk to you all later, Jacob B. ;)

Busy Busy Busy!

Hey guys!
No, I did not die or anything, I've just been keeping busy. :P  Yesterday, Mom and I went up to Bismarck, as we had doctor's appointments, and Andrew went down to Strausberg to get another vehicle, but ill let him tell you about that... :P

We had been really dry around here, with pretty much no snow to melt off, and no rain for quite a while, so we were really happy when we got a nice soaking rain last week! It rained for 2 days or so, and now we actually have our spring mud! :D :P

The first preview video of Agricultural Simulator: Historical Machines came out today, and it's looking really good!  After watching the video over and over again, it looks like the developers really listened to the people and added a bunch of functions that have been requested! :D

Here's the video.  I managed to find an english version of the trailer. ;) The game will be released as multi language, so even if the CD binder is written in German, you can still install the game in English... :)  OK, here's the video. ;)

^^:D:D
Well, I'm gonna go again, so see ya all later, Jacob B.

Seeding is Starting Again!

Hey guys,
Field season is underway now, and the neighbors were actually seeding yesterday, and I would assume that they would still be going at it today...  I was spreading some muck yesterday as well, and we have been getting the vibrashank fixed up, so we are gonna get rolling pretty quick too! :D

On a different note, my 3rd blogaversary is coming up on the 27th of this month, and yes, I am planning a giveaway, so keep your eyes on this spot... ;)  I may be too busy to get to the giveaway right away, but I am planning something... ;)

Grain cleaning season is getting close to finished, so it's nice to have the guys home for a change! ;)  I don't know what the guys are up to right now, but I would assume they are either working on the  vibrashank, or the greenhouse roof... (Cora had Andrew pick up some supplies yesterday in Bismarck...)

Ok, in my last post, I mentioned about a new farming simulation game.  OK, it will be set in the time of the 50s through the 70s! (one of my favorite time periods...)  It's looking really good so far, with an amazing feature, dynamic terrain! :D

Dynamic terrain means that when you plow, it leaves a furrow like in real life! :D  Also, with this feature, I hear that you will be able to get stuck...!  Here is a video of this feature.  Please ignore the German text. (it will be released in English when they are done, but its made in Switzerland...)

^^ :D:D:D :P  Well, I gotta get going, so I'll TTYL. ;) (Talk To You Later)

BOO! :P

Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't written in so long, but we are getting busy with our spring work...  Dad and Andrew are working helter-skelter on grain cleaning, this week especially, as everybody wants their grain cleaned yesterday... :P

Mom and I have broken out the disc and worked a few of the fields up around the farmstead here, to try to kill the weeds that got such a head start last year.  We will be working the fields several times before we plant them...

We are starting to get some baby calves now, so that is keeping us busy as well.  One of my cows had twins, so now I have a little bottle calf, as the mom didn't have enough milk... :(  Andrew picked up another car to work on a few days ago as well... *shakes head* :P

I bought a new toy too. :D  It is a Nintendo 3DS. I bought it, because Farming Simulator is coming to it, so now I can take Farming Sim on the road with me! :D:D  Also, there are 2 new farming games in development by the makers of Agricultural Simulator 2012! :D  I'll tell you about them later though. ;)

I have to go now, so I'll talk to you all later;)

Fencing work...

Hey guys!
I was having some "fun" this afternoon...  I went around the pasture fence today, getting the electric fence working again, as spring is almost here, and the cows are getting restless...  There were enough bad spots to keep me busy... ;) It wasn't fun working in the rain though...

Today was our local farm machine dealer's customer appreciation day, so Dad and I went down there, bought some stuff, and got a free meal! :D  After that, I came home and started working on the fence project....

This morning, Andrew went down to Elendale to continue cleaning grain down there; Cora went baby sitting again; Mom wasn't feeling very good, so she laid in bed for a while; and Dad and I worked on finishing up Dad's grain cleaner.

Yesterday, Andrew and I started work on Cora's 2004 Dodge Stratus that she bought to have Andrew fix up...  Yeah, long story, but the engine is in bad shape right now... I have the feeling that it will be sitting for a while too, now that we are in farming season again.;)

Time to go again, Jacob B;)

Grain Cleaning Season has hit!

Hi guys,
Over the past couple of days, us guys have been working helter-skelter trying to get the grain cleaners ready for the new season.  Last night, Dad and Andrew stayed up till 10:00 PM getting Andrew's cleaner ready to roll!

Both Dad and Andrew are out for the first day of cleaning today.  Recently, Andrew bought himself a semi-truck to pull his grain cleaner!  He bought a 1983 International day cab truck for $3500, which is a very inexpensive truck! :)

Two days ago, Mom and I took my pickup up to Bismarck to run some errands, and to get my front wheels aligned, as that needed doing now that I have my new front end installed... :D  We had some troubles with it on the road though. I think an oxygen sensor blew,  making the computer mess up the fuel mixture...

I also discovered that it looses oil slowly, so we are gonna have to figure out what's happening there... :(  Anyway, I got a picture of me with it after my drive.  I have to go now, mom wants me for a session I guess... ;)  Here's the picture, Jacob B. ;)

Super Tuesday...

Hi guys,
Yesterday, Dad; Mom; and Andrew went up to Bismarck to do some errands, and Dad had a dentist appointment.  Dad had 8 teeth pulled on the same day! Ouch!  They got home around 2:00, and then Andrew and I worked on his car.

That project is coming along well.  We got it pretty much back together yesterday afternoon, and Andrew is working on it right now...  We got it to the stage where you could start it up if you put water in and changed the oil yesterday, so not a whole lot to do on that one. ;)

I think my pickup might me the next project in line. :D  Anyway, today, the rest of the family well be going to the caucus.  I think Dad and Mom are going to one and Andrew and Cora are going to a different one? I don't know... :P

If you didn't know, our family, or some of the members thereof, have gotten active in the Ron Paul campaign.  That is the main reason for going to 2 different caucuses.  I am going to stay home and do the chores tonight... ;)  Well, time to go again.
See ya all later, Jacob B. ;)

Vehicle buying spree!

Hi guys.
The last week was really interesting, especaily to me... :D  The reason for that is..... I bought a pickup! :D  Off hand, I don't have any pictures of it, but I will try to get you all some soon. ;)  It is a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500, very similar to Andrew's really, just 2 years older. :)

I bought that on Thursday, knowing that I would have to work on it...  On Friday, Dad; Andrew; and Cora went down to Selby SD to pick up a 2004 Dodge Stratus for Cora, as she needs a vehicle to drive to work, now that her van got sold...

Yesterday, Andrew went up to Dawson to pick up another Dodge Intrepid, this one is a 2001 model. This one might just be for parts, or it might end up being fixed.  Don't know yet...  I have been working on my school work some today as well... :(

Later today.  I just got in from chores, and I had been helping Andrew work on his stratus most of the afternoon.  We made pretty good progress today on that project.  Well, dinner will be ready in a little bit now, so I am off again.

See ya later, Jacob. :D

News of the week. ;)

Hi guys,
It's been quite a while since I've written, but I have been busy around here...  Over the past week,  we have been doing a lot of tax work, and I've been doing school, and all sorts of other stuff, like doing chores in the nasty blizzard that came through here!

Well, I've seen a lot worse blizzards, but it was a severe turn towards the nasty side from the nice winter we've been having. ;)  But the good side is that we now have plenty of snow to snowmobile... :D  Also, Hrystiayan, if your wondering, I am still waiting for my dirt bike part to come... >:(

Last Wednesday, we all suited up, and brought all of the cows into the lot, and sorted all of the stray calves off.  Then, we got the rest of the calves moved over to a different pen, and then we hauled them all into town to the salesbarn.

We got a very good price for the calves this year, so we are very happy about that!  I saved back 2 heifers, and sold 2 steers, and I got $1,900 bucks! :D:D  That money will go into more cows, by the way. ;)  Anyway, I see it is time to go again, so I will talk to you all later.

Jacob B. ;)

...School... ;)

Hi guys,
Today, it is just Andrew and I at home, as Dad is up in Bismarck at the dentist; Mom went along too; and Cora is working at the nursing home.  Cora has been working at a daycare for a while too, so she has been very busy!

Right now, Andrew is working on taking my old iPod Touch apart, as he wants to try to fix it...  I'm working on my school work again as well... :(  I'm still waiting for my dirt bike part to come, but its on back order, and I can't find it anywhere. >:(

On Tuesday, Dad went up to the town of Harvey to clean grain for the organic flour mill up there.  He just got home yesterday afternoon with a $3,000 dollar check! :D  He said that his tooth started bothering him up there, so that's why he's at the dentist today...

Well, I'm starting to run out of things to write about, so I'm gonna say goodbye pretty quick.  ;)  Thanks for the comments Mom and Hrystiyan!;)  Well, I'm off again, and I'll see you all later;)

crazy days

Hi guys,
On Friday, Cora had a very unexpected event happen to her on her way to work in town.  She was driving down the road, and she saw a couple of deer starting to cross the road, so she braked hard, but she still hit the one, sending him flying into the ditch!

The deer wasn't in the ditch later on, so it must still be alive, but the van is in sorry shape right now.  When it hit, it pushed back the whole front end, crunching the front quarter panel and hood, the right headlight got mashed, and the radiator is bad now.  Cora is going to sell the van for $750 to somebody who needs the tranny.

Also on Friday, Andrew and Dad went up to Minot to buy another car to fix up...  But this time, Andrew bought a brand new car trailer to haul his cars on!  The new project is a 2002 Dodge Stratus with a bad head gasket...

This morning, Dad got up early and went on the road with the grain cleaner and went up to Harvey to clean some dirty grain for the flour mill up there; Mom is exercising; Cora went baby sitting; Andrew just got a package in the mail, and I'm working on school, and talking with my buddy. :D

Time to go again, Jacob B.

busy busy... ;)

Hi guys,
Today, Dad went trucking again; Mom has been making phone calls to people, trying to dig up Ron Paul supporters; Cora has been dong stuff in the house so far; Andrew is listing another one of his cars; and I am getting going on school...

Yesterday, Andrew had listed our old 1985 Chevy Caprice Classic on BisManOnline, and that same night, we got a call from a guy by Bismarck who wanted to buy it, so Dad took it up, and Andrew went with another car for the ride home.;)

On Tuesday, I bought Andrew's iPod Touch, as since he got his tablet, he has hardly turned his iPod on, so now I have an iPod Touch again. :D  I have been having some fun with some of the games on there already too... ;)

My latest extra-curricular activity is building a map for Farming Simulator 2011 that is a copy of our farm! :D  So far, I haven't gotten a whole lot done, just working on a few roads and stuff... When I get closer to done I will post a picture or two;)  Anyway, time to go again.

See you all later, Jacob B ;)

PS: A nice old picture for a change;) RED POWER! :P Don't mean to insult all you greenies by the way. :P :D

PPS: you can click pictures to make them a lot bigger. ;)

reading report.

Hi guys,
Today, Dad went off to haul some grain, after a bit of trouble getting the truck started; Cora went to go babysitting at a daycare; Andrew worked on our neighbor's car (I helped a little too...) Mom has been working around the house; and I have my school to work on...

Today, for my reading assignment, I picked a farming magazine, and I started reading an article about what they think farming will be like in 2021!  So far, we have read that they think that there will be verities of crops that will be drought; frost; and flood resistant! :D

Also, there have been some very interesting demonstrations in automonos farming recently, including a driverless grain cart, driverless corn planter, a system from John Deere that matches a cart's speed to the combines, and a system from Fendt that links 2 tractors together, so that the first 1st has a driver, and he controls the 2nd one as well!

Currently, even though people still have to drive stuff, it could be changing very soon!  Now days, there are GPS guidence systems that well guide your tractor within an inch of accurate!  Anyway, very interesting stuff!  Time to go do chores,
 Jacob B. ;)

Our News...

Hi guys,
Today, Mom is working with a couple of clients; Cora is out doing goat chores; Dad is out doing cow chores; Andrew is messing around with some video stuff; and I'm getting started on my school for the week again.....

Last Friday, Dad; Andrew; and I got the second grain cleaner home, so no more running over 100 miles to go work in a very dusty grain elevator. YAY!! :D  Now we just go about 100 yards to the shop and put them all back together again... ;)

On Thursday, O got my dirt bike fixed up most of the way, and now, I am just waiting for parts to come...  When you kick the engine over now, it has a more distinct wump to it. :P  I think that if my part were here, I would already have driven it. ;)

On Saturday night, Andrew and I got a very nice, and somewhat unexpected, surprise!  It was the very nice gift of $250 to Andrew, and $200 to me, for our work on the grain cleaners.  Thank you Dad and Mom! ;)  Well, time to go again, so I will see you all later.

Random Ramblings

Hi guys,
Today, Mom and Andrew went to Bismarck to do some errands up there; Dad is hauling grain I think; and Cora and I are staying home to work around here and do my school work... I have to do one hours worth of math today... :(

Anyway, Andrew is going to bring my dirt bike parts home today, so I should be able to get that on it's way back together again.  Also, we got our neighbor's car out of the shop yesterday, so we can get that one grain cleaner in and start putting it back together...

I think we are going to start taking the other grain cleaner apart tomorrow.  Let's hope that we don't get to dusty. :P  We also got Andrew's latest car project running yesterday, and we drove it around a little bit, and it seems to run just fine!

Yesterday was a very weird day in terms of the weather.  We had snow melting off again in the morning, and I think we got a little snow in the evening...  Anyway, I should go get started on that huge math project, so I gotta go.

 Bye, Jacob B. ;)

an update

Hi guys,
We've been keeping busy with everything under the sun, so that's why I haven't been writing lately...  Two days ago, very early in the morning, (about 5:00) Dad and Mom got up and went on the roads to go to the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture annual conference.

Yesterday, Andrew got up early in the morning, did his chores, and went on the roads to Minot, to go to an Appleseed shoot up there, as he is an Instructor In Training, or IIT for short. ;)  Dad; Mom; and Andrew all got home last night, and Cora and I stayed home to do the chores.

Over the past week, we have been working on taking apart two grain cleaners and moving them home from an elevator over by Spiritwood, which is about 100 miles from here.  One is just like three other ones that we have, and the other is a shaker mill like the one we took out of the Kintyre elevator.

We currently have the first one home, (in a bunch of little pieces, so that we could get it out the door,) and we are just getting started on the other one, which shouldn't take as long as the first one...  Anyway, that's what we've been up to. ;)

Gotta go, Jacob.  (almost typed my LS-UK user name, NDFarmer) :D

a new book in school

Hi guys,
Today, Mom and I started reading a new book in school.  It is written by the main speaker that we heard at camp.  It is about the book of Proverbs in the Bible, and shares a lot of good information about raising a family.

Today, we read about wisdom, where it comes from, and what you need to get it...  The book's title is The Book of Proverbs, God's book for Wisdom, and is a three book series.  It is a very good family bible study series.

Now, on a different subject.  We have been working in the shop on several projects in the shop.  Andrew bought another car to fix, but is currently working on a neighbors '69 Pontiac Le Mans.  A very nice looking classic car, by the way. ;)

Also, Dad has been working on that shaker mill that we took out of the Kintyre elevator.  Yesterday, Andrew dug out the snowmobile, because somebody might buy it.  Seeing how I am just rambling right now, I will say goodbye. :P

Back from camp.

Hi guys,
We just got back from a lot of fun at winter camp last night, and I thought that I would fill you in on what happened over the weekend.  Friday evening, everyone, except Andrew who stayed home and did chores, left for camp, and got there around 6:00.

On Saturday, we got up and had breakfast right away. Also, Andrew came over Saturday morning.  After breakfast, we went and listened to the speaker, which was Kevin Swanson. (a very good speaker by the way)  After hearing his hour and a half talk, we went and had lunch.

Later on, us boys played some volleyball, and I played a little street hockey with some little kids... :P  After that I played a little ice hockey with some friends, and then it was time for supper.  After supper, Kevin gave another talk, Dad left to go do chores, and us children stayed up to 1:00 AM playing Risk and Apples to Apples... :D

On Sunday, there was a worship service after breakfast and until lunch.  After that, we helped clean up and I played Monopoly and some more Risk.  Later on I played ice hockey again.  At about 6:00, we left for home so that Dad wouldn't have to do chores again.

Good to be home again, Jacob B.

PS. There was a new patch out for Agricultural Simulator 2012 when I got home, so it's a bit easier getting used to working again. :)

Random News.

Hi guys,
Yesterday, we all went over to our friends place to help them work their calves, as they had about 80 to do, and they are only two people, and to make things worse, he had hurt his rib earlier and, even though it didn't hurt right then, he didn't really want to make it hurt again...

Today, Dad and Andrew worked on our JD 4020; Mom had a session this morning, and has another one later on; Cora just left for town; and I have been playing for a while, and started working on my school work again.... :(

Andrew has recently bought a tablet computer, so he has been having some fun tinkering with that.  He is looking for a GPS app now, I guess.  I've played a few games on it, and from what I can see, it looks good, except for the fact that it's way too big for your pocket. :(

I haven't found a place to buy Agricultural Simulator 2012 in the US, but I will keep looking and let you know if and when I find something...  Well, I hear that mom's client is hear now, so I will be heading off now, I guess.
Talk to you all later, Jacob B.

Shop projects...

Hi guys,
Yesterday, we finally got our IH 1486 out of the shop!  We had taken the transmission all apart, and didn't find a bearing with pieces missing, so all that we can figure out is that a bearing had went out before, and they didn't get all of the pieces out. :(

But the time was not wasted.  While we had it apart, we replaced some gears that had some pieces missing, and some bearings that were on their way out.  We also got some of the gages to work again, as none of them worked before. :S

We also started working on our JD 4020 yesterday, after we got the 1486 done.  We took the aftermarket cab off, and drove it into the shop, so that we can work on the park lock.  Simply stated, you can put it in park, and it would roll down a hill, if not stopped!

On Saturday and Sunday, our family will be going to camp!  It sounds like a lot of fun, with hockey, and all sorts of fun stuff to do!  By the way, I won't be getting that snowmobile I wrote about, as it got sold before I got to it. :-(

Anyway, time to go again. Jacob B. ;-)

Heat Wave!

Hi guys,
Two days ago, everyone, except Cora who worked in town, weaned the calves off of the cows and moved them over into a pen away from their mothers.  And the result is excessive mooing from all of the cows day in and day out...

The weather has been absolutely amazing for January here the past couple of days.  Yesterday it got up to fifty some-odd degrees here!  And, we still have not had any lasting snow here either, which is a bit of a shame, seeing how I might be buying a snowmobile! :D

That's right, I might, just might, be buying a cheap snowmobile!  But I won't excite you any more than I already have, just in case it doesn't work out, and partly because I like making you wonder what it might be..... :-) :P

Anyway, this morning, Andrew went to Bismarck in his '08 Dodge Charger that he got working; Dad worked around here for a while, then went to Napoleon; Cora did stuff in the house, and Mom and I worked on my school. :S

Time to go, Jacob B. ;-)

Happy new Year!

Hi guys,
Happy new year!  Let's hope that this year is even better than the last one.  Yesterday, we didn't do much work.  The rest of the family finished watching a movie that they had started the night before, and after lunch, us guys went out to the shop and worked on a few things, and then played pool. :D

Last Thursday, Dad, Andrew , and I went to a farm near Spiritwood, which is on the east side of Jamestown, to look at another grain cleaner setup.  After talking and looking for about an hour, we decided to buy it for  $12,500.

We are going to get it home sometime this week, and then we are going to have to redesign it to get the cleaner that we took out of the Kintyre elevator onto this trailer...  That will keep us busy in case we run out of things to do. :P

Well, that is pretty much all I have to write about for now, so I will leave you with a final picture or two. ;-)  Here you go.    My grass crew. ;-)
