Hockey party

Q: Describe the highlights of your hockey party.

A: My favorite part was just playing hockey with friends and having a good time. The highlights were when we were skating (Dagleys & us) and the Geigers came to join us. Basically, I just liked the whole thing and hope to do it again sometime with a whole bunch of friends, and get better at hockey.

Q. Describe how a game of hockey is played.

A. Official hockey is played indoors on ice rinks. There are 6 people with hockey sticks on the ice all the time, and they are trying to get a puck into the goal. A puck is hard, round, black, and about 3" in diameter, and a goal is a steel box with one open end that is 6' long and 4' high. Here is a hockey stick fact, Players used to curve their own blades by heating them in boiling water, with a torch or a blow dryer and then jamming them under a door and pulling up on the stick.

Hockey skates

Q. Why did you pick the hockey skates that you picked?

A. Here are my three reasons why.

  1. They fit & are in good shape.
  2. Mom is going to pay for them.
  3. And they are an improvement over what I used to be skating on before (I used to play hockey on figure skates).

So thank you for buying them for me, mom. :)

Envelope

Q. What would be your favorite thing to receive in an envelope?

A. The bill of sale for a Beachcraft King Air 350 airplane.

I think that this airplane is superior because of size, power, & comfort. However, their very high price tag & fuel consumption rate are not very nice. But you asked me what I wanted, so here is my response. :)

Answer that question

Hello everyone,
Jacob has tried VERY hard to be happy that, this year in school, he can type a blog post rather than write in his journal. He still must do a little writing for penmanship class, but this arrangement is a major improvement to an active young man who would rather skip writing altogether. :) Still, I see him struggling with the "Creative" part of "Creative writing."

Yesterday, as I watched him write his responses to the blog tag that's been going around, I was surprised how easily he put his thoughts together. That was when I got the idea of asking him a question every day that he can answer here. So, from now on, I will write a question at the top of each post, and he will answer it below. Hopefully this will take the terror out of the terrible. :) If you think the question is kind of silly, then, you can know that it's just one busy home school mother trying to keep her writing-reluctant son free from writer's block! Here goes.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOR? WHY IS IT MORE WONDERFUL THAN EVERY OTHER COLOR TO YOU?

Well, I think my favorite color is orange. I dont know, I guess orange has been my favorite color for a while, but I don't know why. Mom says I have to say 3 things I like that are orange so here they are.

  1. The #5 pool ball.
  2. A pumpkin.
  3. My hockey stick.

Thank you mom for letting me do it this way.
bye,
Jacob
