Okay, here is another Car Talk puzzler for you from the Car Talk site(Tom and Ray are the hosts of the show)
RAY: A few weeks ago, Tommy calls me up and tell me that our sister Lucille is sick. He says, "I'll make her some chicken soup if you will deliver it to her." So, after work, I show up at Tommy's house. When I get there, Tommy's pouring chicken soup into a plastic container and mumbling that he can't find the right cover for it.We try one, and it pops off. We put another cover on. It pops off. I tried to put tape on the cover, and the tape won't stick to the plastic. So, I very carefully carry the chicken soup out to my Dodge Colt Vista... TOM: Is this the automotive part of the puzzler?
RAY: You bet. I put the soup on the floor. With great trepidation, I pull away from the curb.I realize as I'm driving that my house is between Tommy's house and Lucille's house, and I should stop off at home, see the wife and kids and the hounds, and maybe have supper. So, I stop at home. I have supper. I sit in front of the TV, and I fall asleep watching TV. Hours later, I wake up - TOM: Remembering that our sister is probably knocking at the front door, looking for the chicken soup. RAY: Right. And I go back to sleep. I wake up again at 1:30. I hurriedly grab a few old National Geographic magazines and some fruit that we were going to throw away. I jump in the car and drive to her house, which is several miles from my house-never once concerned that I'm going to spill the soup. And, in fact, I don't spill a drop of it. TOM: But, you were concerned when you left my house. RAY: Right, but why wasn't I concerned this time?
Think you know the answer? I will tell you the correct answer in two days again. ;-)

Puzzler answer
Okay, the question was:"My wife was always forgetting where she left her car keys. One day, I heard her about to tip over our chest of drawers. Bursting into our bedroom, I saw her car keys, and using a simple four word phrase, I calmed her down, and showed her where her keys were." The tricky part is that the words were all homonyms. (words that sound alike, like: to, two, too...)
And the answer is: There there, they're there. The first two "theres" are to calm her down, and then there is a contraction of they are to they're, and lastly, there, pointing out her keys. Hope all of you like it, I might put some more of these up later.
Gotta go,
Jacob

A puzzler for you!
I don't know if any of you listen to NPR Car Talk, but every week they have a puzzler, and answer last week's puzzler. Anyway, I am going to see if any of you can answer this one, quoting right from them. (If any of you have heard this and remember the answer, please don't post the answer. That would be cheating.)
I will give you the answer in two days. Here it is, as I remember it. "My wife was always forgetting where she left her car keys. One day, I heard her about to tip over our chest of drawers. Bursting into our bedroom, I saw her car keys, and using a simple four word phrase, I calmed her down, and showed her where her keys were. The tricky part is that the words were all homonyms. So, leave me a comment telling me what you think the answer is, and I will tell you the correct answer in two days.
Bye.

Random Ramblings
Hi,
I have been thinking about what to write to you about today, and now I just forgot what I was going to write. :-( I just got in from helping Andrew and Dad on the cleaner, and now it will probably be time for math when I am done here.
Dad got home a little while ago with some electric motors, pulleys, belts (the wrong ones), advice, and a whole lot of other assorted goodies! So, that should keep all of us guys busy for a while, but when we're all done, it should be quite the rig!
Gotta go,
Jacob

Fish
Hi,
Today, I will tell you what I know about keeping fish. (With Cora's advice) You feed them 2 or 3 times a day; change a fourth of their water every other week; add some "biological filtration booster" stuff every week to maintain good bacteria; install a filter, heater and thermometer at the beginning and change the filter inside the filter every other week; and maintain water temperature of 70 to 80 degrees; and watch your fish forever. ;-)
Anyway, that's all I know about keeping fish, except that, you can only add 5 new fish every week, up to a maximum of 1 inch of adult fish per gallon of water in the tank. Oh, today i finished my math book, and will be going on to algebra tomorrow. :-)
Gotta go,
Jacob

My 50th post.
Hi all,
This is my 50th post! I know it doesn't seem like all that much, but for a person who doesn't like writing, it is a lot. Well, I will be starting algebra on Thursday, so I am wondering if that will be as bad, better, or worse then what i have been doing now.
So, today has pretty much consisted of chores and school for me, but i will go out to help Andrew and Dad on Andrew's cleaner when I am done, and hopefully, everything will go good out there too. Millie, our dog, just started a cat fight, which resulted in two very hissy cats, and one very happy dog, but it sounded pretty funny.
Gotta go,
Jacob

News at 10:00, with your host, Jacob. ;-)
Hi everybody,
I decided to tell you, more or less, about what has happened in the past few days. Starting with the old news, Cora got some fish last Wednesday, Dad ordered a generator for his grain cleaner, I got my guitar, Cora had her birthday, got an aquarium and other stuff too.
Now for the recent news. I have been making good progress in school these past few days, I have been helping out on Andrew's grain cleaner, which is coming along nicely. (for more info on grain cleaner progress, visit Andrew's blog at :http://andrewbornemann.blogspot.com/)
Now for next week's forecast. Dad's generator should be coming soon, I will be starting algebra in a few days, Andrew's cleaner should be getting close to done, and, as always, chores will continue. :-)
